Requirements for all dogs

All dogs must be free of communicable diseases.  Signed release, and completed application must be provided at or before the first class.   Dogs in classes must be dog and people friendly.  Dogs with Dog Aggression issues will not be allowed in class. Please see Refund Policy for more details.   Most classes have 'homework' that will add to your experience.

Evaluation

Current Private Lesson Rate: $35.00 for 30 minutes

All dogs not starting in either Foundation or Agility 101 must be evaluated prior to class placement.   It's not fair to you, your dog or the others in class to be in a class not suited for your needs.   Rate will be at current private lesson rate for 30 minute session.  Titles can be substituted for evaluation on a individual, case by case basis.

Foundation Level

Foundation Classes are 60 minutes long.  Each 8 week session can be repeated. Cost: $110 for 8 week session.  

Puppies in Foundation Classes? Foundation classes are suitable for puppies 6 months-12 months old or dogs with open growth plates.
(No jumping, or repetitive activities).


Foundation: Suitable for dogs 6 months old or older (some large breed or slow to mature dogs may not be ready for this). Class size is limited to 4-6 dogs/handlers. Little jumping or repetitive activities. Each 8 week session can be repeated. Cost: $110 for 8 week session

Agility 101 

This class is suitable for all adult dogs with closed growth plates. If new to agility, it is *highly* recommended that you start with Foundation Agility to get the best start for you and your dogs.  Each 8 week session can be repeated. Cost: $110 for 8 week session.

All work is done with low equipment or with hoops, or on the flat (no equipment). 

Course Curriculum:

  • Beginning Jump Training
  • Front Cross on the flat
  • Rear Cross on the flat
  • Movement Processing: Acceleration, deceleration, and lateral motion cues on the flat
  • On-the-flat and Hoops course work
  • Beginning Contact performance

Agility 201

This class is suitable for all adult dogs with closed growth plates. New students must have a evaluation prior to enrollment in this class.   Each 8 week session can be repeated. Cost: $110 for 8 week session.  

Course Curriculum: 

  • Jump Training (to full height)
  • Cross work with obstacles
  • Continuing Contact Performance
  • Movement Processing with obstacles
  • Beginning Sequencing
  • Beginning Distance work

Agility 301 

These 60 minute classes are suitable for all adult dogs with closed growth plates. New students must have a evaluation prior to enrollment in this class.   Dog competing in Novice/Open or Level 2-3 have the typical skills suitable for this class. Each 8 week session can be repeated. Cost: $110 for 8 week session.   

Course Curriculum:

  • Jump Training
  • Cross work with obstacles
  • Finished Contact Performance
  • Movement Processing with obstacles
  • Continued Sequencing, to Novice/Open/Advanced courses (12-20 obstacles)
  • Game Theory (learn how to play the games in USDAA/CPE/AKC)
  • Continuing Distance work

Agility 401: Competition

These classes are for dogs competing at the Master/Excellent/Level 3 or 4 levels or equivalent. Each class is based upon a theme (rear crosses, deceleration cues, etc) and includes full course work. Courses are developed from current AKC, USDAA, CPE, ISC, and FCI courses trends.  Each month, we will have an Advanced Game Theory Class.  Learn strategy on how to succeed in the games in CPE, USDAA and AKC.  Classes are on-going. Cost: $110 for 8 week session or on a drop in rate ($20 per class) with instructor's permission.

Private Lessons

Barbara is available for private lessons for 1-2 teams.  Booked in 30 minute increments,  each lesson is geared to what *you* want to learn. Current Private Lesson Rate: $35.00 for 30 minutes.  Please contact Barbara for more information and to schedule your lesson.

Missed Class Policy

Updated: 3/7/2010: We realize that while most people don't want to miss classes,but sometimes life gets in the way of agility classes. For each session completed starting with January 2010 session, each student will get 1/2 credit to be used for future missed classes.  A maximum of 1 (one) credit can be used for missed classes in a session.   If possible, you can make up classes with another class.  Please check with the instructor first!

Refund Policy

Up to the start of your second class, Peak Agility offers a partial refund, if requested in writing of unused classes.  No refunds are possible after that.  In certain circumstances, Peak Agility reserves the right to move dogs and students to a more appropriate class, or to bar students and their dogs from the facilities, at our discretion.  If it is not possible to enroll in another class, a refund of unused classes will be issued. In cases of dog aggression issues, dogs will be barred from the facility and no refund will be issued.

Refer Someone!

If you refer a student to Peak Agility, you will receive a $10.00 credit to your next session after they have completed their first 8 week session.  Please note that Refer Someone! does not count with members of your household or other dogs you own/co-own.

Multiple Dog Discount

If you (or your household) has multiple dogs enrolled at Peak Agility, additional dog (s) will receive a $10.00 discount per class session.   Please note unless dogs are at the same level, it is generally not possible to have 2 dogs with one handler in a particular class, and is discouraged.   (I know from experience!)
